CPR Bus: Social and convenient CPR training
During an advanced service design course at the IT University of Copenhagen, my project group and I carried out a service design case study for the medical company Laerdal. Laerdal’s mission is to help save lives, for example through CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training in case of cardiac arrests, offering a broad product portfolio of training equipment.
Based on preliminary work and in collaboration with Laerdal, we framed the project as such:
How might we prepare and activate lifesavers in Denmark by making CPR training social and convenient using Laerdal’s product portfolio in a service solution?
Through an end-to-end design process and various service design tools and methods, we proposed the service concept, the CPR Bus. The CPR Bus consists of an actual, mobile bus and an app, offering brush-up CPR training both regarding theoretical and practical knowledge. The CPR Bus presents real-life scenarios as it allows people to rehearse this and engage in training.
Our service design process was carried out through the use of a variety of tools and methods, such as user journeys, use case scenarios and mock-ups as well as service blueprints.
